In 1989, the Denver Art Museum organized an exhibit, "American Patchwork Quilt",of 50 early and contemporary quilts (most of them made in Colorado) that traveled to Tokyo, Japan. 30 of the quilts came from the Museum's collection, and the other 20 were loaned by their owners.
